Bages

The village of Bages is not summarized only with the borough, as you notice at the edge of the pond, it consists of 4 inhabited places:

  • the borough at the edge of the pond
  • the hamlet of Prat de Cest more in the west between scrubland and via domitia
  • the hamlet of Pesquis further back in the medium of the vines
  • the hamlet of Estarac in the calm under the pine forest

The church of St. Martin of Bages:

Dates from the 13th century. The work of rising1 meter was completed about the 17th  century. At the foot of the church the altitude measures 35 meters under the sea level.

The sundial:

Louis XIII would have made a gift to the village in order to thank the villagers for having accomodated and looked after the wounded soldiers at their return from the spanish war.

The fishing port:

On the left of the church, point of view of the pond and far away the massif of Carroux. By borrowing the staircases, a small walk of a hundred meters brings you to Caudeliers (beginning of the port).

Stroll on the road of the ponds:

The D105 takes you along in a fairy-like landscape (particularly with the rising and setting sun) to Peyriac the mer. Don't approach to close to the pink flamingos, because the are very anxious.

Footpath by the pond:

Picknick-Areas and games for the children along the pond, at the exit of the village, in direction of Peyriac de Mer.

Pesquis:

The Pesquinous family wich lived in the hamlet had goats, and the rich people of Narbonne came to get the milk of the Pesquinous.
